3 Oversized Outerwear Styles from New York Fall 2015 Runways

3 Oversized Outerwear Styles from New York Fall 2015 Runwaysfeatured

Amusing fact: Moscow usually still has some snow left till mid-May. Frustration and vitamin deficiency aside, it as an excellent excuse to shop for stuff inspired by the next season’s fall trends. I’m very much into oversized outerwear, and it seems to be staying for fall 2015 season. Here are three of my favourite styles from the New York runways.

Floor length coat

Narciso Rodriguez, Nichols K, Rosie Assoulin, Alice + Olivia, Greg Lauren, maxi coats, NYFW f/w 2016

Maxi coats remain one of the chicest ways to stay warm. The key to pulling the look off is not trying too hard. My favourite way of styling long coats is clean and monochrome.

Porsche Design, Pedro del Hierro Madrid, Ryan Loche, floor length outerwear, monochrome, NYFW, f/w 2016

Big Colourful Fur

Jeremu Scott, Brandon Sun, Michael Kors, Cushnie et Ochs, Rodarte, big bright fur, NYFW, f/w 2016, kendall Jenner, fashion show

Think Chanel Yeti collection, but the colour of the rainbow. A huge cloud of a coat that envelopes you in its fuzzy warmth and just swallows you up. I find the most stylish way to wear this kind of fur (apart from simply belting it and adding a pair of killer heels) is over a colour-coordinated slip dress.

Elizabeth and James, Ralph Lauren, Altuzarra, maxi fur coats, colorful fur, slip dresses, NYFW, f/w 2016

Tent-sized cape

Tadashi Shoji, Public School, Creatures of the Wind, Marc Jacobs, Tamara Mellon, capes, oversize, new york fashion week, f/w 2016

Huge cocoon looking cape is the type of thing that gets you to street style photography blogs. It can not be unseen. I absolutely love oversized cape with a matching hat. Check out an outfit with a classic cape paired with a huge hat I posted a while back here.
