In an attempt to take and edit more photos, I’ve started doing these current faves posts. This time, I had to edit down the selection, there’s so much festive inspiration around! I’ve already been feeling the holiday magic at the end of November, this must be my favourite time of the year.
Beautyblender has been my favourite for a while, and I now know it also works perfectly with dry winter skin. This is what I use to apply all of my liquid products and to blend powders. I’ll be giving several of these as gifts to my friends. Waiting to try out the Bodyblender too! And in case you missed the news, we now have the full range in Russia here.
Yes, I put up two at home, a real one and a fake little guy from IKEA. And yes, I’ve been taking photos of and with every pretty Christmas tree I encounter. I already decorated two at my dad’s store (and didn’t take photos because I am an idiot), two at home and I could keep going. Did you put up your tree yet?
I accidentally stumbled upon this beauty box while searching for a subscription that delivers to Russia (which is kind of a mission impossible), and I’ve been impressed with the selection and the packaging. This Christmas edition comes with not one, but three boxes jam-packed with exciting stuff! They now pose as presents under my smaller tree because I’m obsessed with the gold pattern. And if you were stuck for ideas on what to get me for the holidays, well… You’re not anymore.
Just one example of an awesome product introduced to me through the subscription box above. I’m actually noticing that my hair has been looking healthier and glossier! You’ve seen the Wet Brush in my gift guide, and now that I’ve had the chance to use it, I can confirm the amazing reviews. I’m sorry for the cat hair, my whole existence is intertwined with cat hair.
Bliss exGLOWsion! moisturizer
I’ve been using this moisturizer for several months, and it works perfectly for dry sensitive skin. It actually makes your skin look better without makeup and acts as a great primer if you do choose to apply foundation/powder. The moisturizer has these tiny beads which you’re supposed to massage into your skin until they disappear.
The habit of making the bed
When I was little, getting me to make my bed was a nightmare for my parents. I hated it with all my heart. And of course, as soon as I moved out, I made a mental note to keep my bed gloriously unmade as a symbol of freedom and youth. But recently I’ve been reading about the effect of clutter on our lives. Apparently, the tidier your space is, the easier it is to memorize, come up with new ideas, think, breathe. Maybe I’m just getting older. Also, my dad has been telling me this for 20+ years. Sorry, dad. Turns out, a made bed has all sorts of unexpected positive side effects! My productivity is up because I’m forced to sit behind the table instead of staying in bed till noon with my laptop. I have the motivation to tidy up other areas because well, I’ve already started. A made up bed just feels like I have my life together. And I can justify buying all sorts of pretty pillows like these!
My secret weapon for Russian winter. Long, warm, cozy and stylish. What more can you ask for? Find it here.
