A Morning in Amsterdamfeatured
There’s no better way to start a morning in Amsterdam than going to their biggest and most important museum: the famous Rijksmuseum. Some of the selling points are the greatest works of Dutch art, a vast collection of delftware, one of the most beautiful libraries in the world, and coffee that looks as good under the unbelievably high ceiling of the main hall, as it tastes bad. Do come early and maybe consider buying the tickets online to escape the queue.
And don’t forget to check the temporary exhibitions (although I’d start with Gallery of Honour, you’d be lucky to have about half an hour until the guided tours absorb the Rembrandts and the Vermeers). This time, there was a large fashion history display with pieces dating from 16 century. I cannot even begin to imagine how much work has gone into this gown from 1759.
